FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know about our services, solutions, and marine support.

What does Marine Mechanics do?

Marine Mechanics is a technical engineering partner for the full vessel lifecycle. The company delivers navigation and communication services, safety systems, calibration, IHM preparation and maintenance, testing and monitoring, Alcovisor, and machinery spare parts, all under one roof, across six global locations. Every service is built around prevention, protection, and performance.

Care Beyond Repair is the philosophy that guides everything Marine Mechanics does. Rather than waiting for a system to fail, Marine Mechanics delivers preventive maintenance, proactive certification tracking, and lifecycle management that keeps critical shipboard systems safe, compliant, and operational. The goal is sustained system health across the full vessel lifecycle, not isolated fixes.

Marine Mechanics operates from six locations: India (Chennai), Singapore, UAE (Fujairah and Ajman), USA (Houston), China – Ningbo, Zhoushan, and Hong Kong SAR. Engineers are available at major ports and drydock locations worldwide, with 24/7 remote support in every time zone.

Marine Mechanics services diverse vessel types including container ships, tankers, bulk carriers, and other commercially operating vessels. We deliver services to Flag, Class, and maker requirements regardless of vessel type,
trading area, or flag state.

Yes. Marine Mechanics offers AMC contracts across its service lines, turning scheduled servicing into planned, budgeted care. AMC contracts eliminate reactive firefighting after a fault or a Port State finding, replacing it with a structured maintenance programme that keeps critical systems certified and operational throughout the year.

Marine Mechanics provides 24/7 remote technical support across every time zone. For most faults in navigation, communication, or safety systems, a qualified engineer is reachable immediately and can diagnose and guide
resolution before a technician boards. For on-site intervention, the nearest service hub is mobilised based on the vessel’s location.

The Marine Mechanics Digital Portal gives shipowners, managers, and technical superintendents a single view of service records, certification status, equipment expiry dates, and service history across their fleet. It replaces manual tracking with a centralised, always-current system that supports proactive planning, Port State readiness, and audit
compliance.

Marine Mechanics holds approvals from Bureau Veritas, Lloyd’s Register, ABS, ClassNK, Korean Register, DNV and IRS. All services and certifications are delivered to the standard required by the relevant Class society for each vessel.

Marine Mechanics approaches every vessel as a critical asset. Prevention means anticipating issues before they develop into failures, through structured diagnostics, system history analysis, and engineering evaluation. Protection means keeping every system certified, calibrated, and compliant at every stage. Performance means tracking, measuring, and optimising reliability through planned maintenance and trend-based improvement. Together, these three disciplines ensure vessels remain healthy, dependable, and operationally efficient across their full lifecycle.
