Marine Mechanics currently has a very exciting opportunity to join the team as an IHM Executive. This is a challenging and rewarding role that will allow you to build specialist knowledge of Hazardous Materials onboard ships and the international regulations that govern them.

Marine Mechanics is a class-authorised IHM inspection and maintenance consultancy, supporting shipowners and managers in meeting their obligations under the Hong Kong Convention and the EU Ship Recycling Regulation. ROLE PURPOSE

This role will include managing and coordinating all sales and service enquiries for the Navcom Division, ensuring prompt, professional and accurate responses to clients and following each enquiry through to successful closure.

You will undergo comprehensive training through our Navcom experts, following which you will be competent to handle enquiries, prepare quotations, coordinate service jobs and support the growth of the division.

This is a full time, permanent position based in Chennai, MMPL office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordination of all Navcom sales and service activities, including:

  • Receiving, logging and responding to sales and service enquiries for navigation and communication equipment.
  • Preparing quotations, proforma invoices and follow-ups with clients to convert enquiries into orders.
  • Liaising with principals, suppliers and OEMs for pricing, availability and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinating service jobs, scheduling engineer attendance and tracking job status to completion.
  • Maintaining accurate records of enquiries, orders, quotations and service reports.
  • Providing a professional and courteous service to clients, answering any queries that they might have.
  • Communication with Clients, Suppliers, the Service team and fellow Team Members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in the field of Electronics, Electrical, Marine or a related discipline.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Flexible to work and have a can-do attitude, willingness to learn.
  • Strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively alone or in a small team.
  • Attention to detail for accurate data, and be familiar with MS Office Suite; knowledge of any ERP is an added advantage.
  • We are looking for candidates with experience of less than 2-3 years; freshers can also apply.
