The Furuno FM-8900S is a 25 W VHF radiotelephone with built-in Class A DSC and a dedicated channel 70 watch receiver, fully compliant with GMDSS. It has a bright, high-contrast 4.3" colour display and improved noise reduction for clear voice even in a noisy wheelhouse. A dedicated key gives instant access to channel 16, and a GPS connection enters position and time automatically.

Marine Mechanics supplies and installs the FM-8900S as part of complete GMDSS installations, and carries out annual radio surveys, shore-based maintenance and repairs.
